Allen Garber - Lead Consultant
Al Garber served in the US Army for 5 years. He attained the rank of Captain and qualified as an Airborne Ranger. His service included duties as an Infantry Company Commander and in the Military Police as a platoon leader, executive officer, and detachment commander. He served 13 months in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division.
Mr. Garber served 26 years as an FBI Special Agent, Supervisor,Training Director, and Special Weapons and Tactics Team Leader. He specialized in investigations of violent crimes and fugitive investigations and apprehensions. Included in his duties was supervision of the Minnesota Fugitive Task Force, which is a multi agency task force tasked with locating and arresting violent fugitives.
He served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) under Governor Jesse Ventura. As Commissioner he led an agency that employed over 4000 people and had a budget of over $250 million.
President George W. Bush appointed him to be United States Marshal for the District of Minnesota. As US Marshal Mr. Garber worked with many law enforcement agencies to form a fugitive task force. He worked closely with the Minneapolis Police to form a Juvenile Violent Offenders Apprehension Team.
Mr. Garber currently works part-time as a training and investigations consultant and is the lead for the SMEAC Consulting Group. He is a Licensed Private Investigator in MN and FL.
